“My dog barks at me when I’m in the kitchen doing things like making a cup of tea. I ask her to leave the kitchen and stand the other side of a dog gate where she can still see me. She gets a reward when the barking stops. She’s beginning to respond to the training. I’ve tried just about everything else except punishment. I don’t intend to try that. It has no place in dog training.“

He sat for 3 hrs with me without a bark, and then did the same thing this evening at our local Legion Hall where I was getting signatures to save our healthcare system. Not one bark. He stays in the same room I sit in at all times, and follows me when I move.“

“Feeback #1: “So I used technique 1 and with the first few barking sessions he stopped looked up at me and stopped barking. You could have knocked me down with a feather. He walked back with me calmly. So all day he has had a couple of barking episodes and calmed instantly. No matter who or what came passed…. nothing!
Then it was my grandaughters birthday and I was out for about 4 hours and when I got home he was waiting at the door not crying barking or jumping up. Usually if I’m gone for 10 minutes you would think I had been gone for a week and he would cry Zoom jump and jump for at least 15 minutes or more.
Now it’s been 1 day!! I don’t expect miracles but I can feel his calmness if that’s possible. I am trying not to get too excited about it but so far your information has been amazing. Thank you for the follow up.“

“My dog training is going really well. I am just focusing on my dog barking at any noise whilst in the garden . I am also listening to the different types of bark she uses. I have two dogs both are young so there is a lot of play. However the elder of the two is very reactive to noise but thanks to your instructions I am learning her bark communication. She is learning the word quiet and I praise her afterwards. It’s been a big help!
Next step is her barking and growling loudly and continuously when the door bell rings.
After that I would like to focus on her reaction to any visitors because she barks and jumps up at them unfortunately my other younger dog is copying. So a lot of training still to be done.

I have started with the quiet command, so hopefully o start to get some outcome soon as he is a smart and a quick learner I would spot a little more insight into the natural supplements/strategies. As far as gunshots, people arriving, thunderstorms ot any loud noises , his anxiety does spike he tends to then bang loud on the doors or try to hide somewhere mainly in a real tight hole. I have not tried any of the calm music but will defy give it a go.”
