“I have a 10 week old shihtzu that is a champ. I have had him a week today.
He has only pooped on floor once. He goes to door when he needs to go if he has been up. I have a pee pad down in xpen tried enclosing it and put him in it. Didn’t work. Opened it and he goes in it sometimes to pee, but mostly goes outside.
I do carry him outside first thing in the morning he always goes. Take him out right after nap, 30 minutes after night feeding and at 10 pm. He sleeps all night in crate. I’m luckythank you Mike. I have had him 3 weeks. Now 12 weeks old. Completely potty trained (no pads). He responds so sit, come, play ball, hungry, treat, find me, outside, no bite. He has started to put his toys in his toy basket. I’m wowed with putting toys away, if he continues that it might go out on YouTube🤣

“Comment #1: It is working we are training a two year old and a two and a half months old dachshunds. As long as we get them out on time after they eat and every couple of hours. “Winston was very easily potty trained. We took him outside at regular intervals and rewarded him with treats (a piece of his kibble) when he used the potty. When he roamed loose in the house we did keep a training leash attached to him. He was trained for the most part within two weeks. He only had an accident when his stomach was upset. We still give him a piece of kibble when he goes out to potty.“

“My Charlotte is doing very well. I have a 2 year old minature poodle as well, and she runs out after him when I call them to go outside to do their business. Only two accidents in the crate as she wasn’t crate trained, and three in the house the first 3 days. Since then she has done very well. No accidents at all. She is 5 months old. I follow a time line and put her out twice if she goes once, and she usually goes again. I put her out 2 hours after meals and they run and play a lot, which really helps as well. When I see her do her business, I praise her when she has completed the task.”

Funny how common sense approaches in the strategy evade the human’s brain when dealing with an animal.
I know it doesn’t work with a child so why would yelling work with a dog?!I am using alot of the material I have purchased in the bell training—even tho she is 5….
